4 surprise products we could see at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked (including the Galaxy Glasses)

We're days away from Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked, where the tech giant will unveil its latest generation of foldables and smartwatches. Samsung's mobile launch event takes place on Wednesday, July 22, at 6 p.m. ET in London, and ZDNET will be on the ground catching the latest news.
Samsung's latest generation of foldables includes the eighth-generation Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, as well as the next generation of Galaxy smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9.

Samsung could also be cooking up a few surprises, like a wider Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy XR Glasses Samsung teased earlier this year, or a second-generation Galaxy Ring.
Here is everything we're expecting Samsung to unveil next week.
Samsung recently teased that a new foldable is in the cards this year. It even showed off a "brand new shape" in the Spider-Man trailer, so all signs point to the much-discussed wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 launching next week. This will be Samsung's seventh generation of foldable phones, so we expect some innovation on the form factor.

Rumors suggest that the Z Fold 8 will feature a bigger battery at 5,000 mAh, a dual camera setup, and a tablet-adjacent aspect ratio. This could be announced alongside the mainstay foldables Samsung has unveiled each summer, including the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
We're on track to get the ninth-generation Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Rumors suggest Samsung is skipping its Classic form factor this year, so if you're in the market for that rotating bezel design, take a look at last year's Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
As for the new watches, the Galaxy Watch 9 is rumored to get the usual range of updates, including potentially new processors and a more powerful battery.
While Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung, Hon Pak, confirmed that a second-generation Galaxy Ring is in the works, there's not much chatter that it's coming any time soon. We haven't seen many rumors that it's slated to launch next week, but maybe Samsung is moving in stealth on this one.
If it doesn't launch this week, we'd estimate a launch date closer to early 2027 -- potentially at CES in Las Vegas.
