A recent T-Mobile outage impacted many of its subscribers, and now some of them have been asking the carrier for credit.
On July 27, T-Mobile's network went down for customers around the nation, resulting in the dreaded SOS messages when they tried to connect via their phones. The outage was mostly fixed toward the end of the day, with the company stating that it had fully restored service for all customers. However, some are still reporting scattered outages, according to Downdetector .

If you were one of the unlucky customers unable to get service that day, you could have gotten compensated for your misfortune by contacting T-Mobile customer support.
"Last Monday, we applied a $10 bill credit to customers who reached out to our Customer Care teams following the technical challenges," T-Mobile told ZDNET "Those customers were notified by text message that the credit had already been applied to their account. We continue work with customers based on their individual experience.
The carrier qualified the credit process by saying that "the technical challenges early last week did not affect every customer, and the experience varied for those who encountered difficulties." Some subscribers ran into lengthy disruptions, T-Mobile said, while others encountered only brief disruptions. As such, there is no one blanket bill credit for all customers.
Beyond the $10 credit given to subscribers who contacted the company, others have been requesting and receiving larger amounts. Those seem to be based partly on their experience and partly on their persistence, at least according to a Reddit thread from late last week.
Requesting a credit seems simple enough. But the comments in the Reddit thread indicate that everyone's mileage has been varying.

At the top of the list is one customer who said they received $80. At first, the T-Mobile rep offered this person $70 in credit. But after speaking with a supervisor, the rep upped it to $80 ($20 upfront and $10 a month for the next six months). A couple of other people said they got $60. But alas, most of the amounts were far lower, typically around $10 to $15.
So, what should you do if you were impacted by the outage and would like compensation?
