ZDNET's recommendations are based on many hours of testing, research, and comparison shopping. We gather data from the best available sources, including vendor and retailer listings as well as other relevant and independent reviews sites. And we pore over customer reviews to find out what matters to real people who already own and use the products and services we’re assessing.
When you click through from our site to a retailer and buy a product or service, we may earn affiliate commissions. This helps support our work, but does not affect what we cover or how, and it does not affect the price you pay. Neither ZDNET nor the author are compensated for these independent reviews.

The Ninja Creami ice cream maker just hit its lowest price ever for Amazon Prime Day, dropping down to $170 from $220, saving you 22%. The Creami lets you make your own ice cream, gelato, sorbet, milkshakes, smoothie bowls, and more, with soft and, yes, creamy results. I've had the chance to test the Ninja Creami Scoop & Swirl (the version with a pull handle and soft serve dispenser), and I'd recommend the machine to any ice cream fan.
Is it a necessity? No. But is it a fun kitchen gadget to have around for making your own ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and other frozen treats?
Absolutely. With the Creami, you make your own frozen treats in three steps: First, prep your recipe in one of the pint containers. Then, freeze it for 24 hours.
Finally, put the pint into the machine to re-spin it for a soft, creamy texture. I also love how easy it is to clean -- every part is dishwasher safe. The cons of the Creami are that you do have to plan to make your recipe and freeze it (unless you want to spin store-bought ice cream to give it a softer, more soft-serve texture, which is an option).
