The Pixel 11 Could Suffer from a Downgrade Due to RAM Shortage
Google's upcoming Pixel 11 lineup may feature less RAM than its predecessors due to the ongoing global RAM shortage.

The impending launch of Google's Pixel 11 series may be bittersweet for tech enthusiasts. According to leaked specifications shared by MysticLeaks, the next generation of Pixel phones could come with a downgrade in RAM compared to the current Pixel 10 lineup. This development is likely a consequence of the ongoing global RAM shortage.
The leaked specs suggest that the base model Pixel 11 might start with 8GB of RAM, a reduction from the 12GB found in the current generation. Android Headlines was the first to report on these leaked specifications. While this decrease in RAM could be a disappointment for some, it's worth noting that higher-end models may still offer ample memory.
MysticLeaks also indicates that Google may introduce a second configuration for the Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold, featuring 12GB of RAM. This would be a decrease from the 16GB of RAM found in each of these models in the current lineup. However, there could be a 16GB configuration available for each model, which might come with a price increase.
The potential introduction of lower-spec models with reduced RAM could have implications for pricing. If Google does offer a base model with 8GB of RAM, it may be positioned as a more affordable option. On the other hand, the 16GB configurations might see a price hike.
The silver lining is that consumers will still have options to choose from, even if the highest-end models become more expensive.
