Samsung's high-end OLED gaming monitors are on sale for Prime Day, with discounts up to 36 percent off.

Samsung makes some of the best OLED monitors available, and several of its top gaming monitors are receiving significant discounts for Prime Day. The strongest deal offered is on the Odyssey G6 (G61SH), a 27-inch monitor featuring a 240-Hz refresh rate at a 2560 x 1440 resolution. It's 36 percent off for Prime Day, priced at $385, down from $500.
Although it has been sold below its retail price occasionally over the past few months, this is the lowest price it has ever reached. The previous version of the G6 was tested in late 2024, but the main difference is the lower refresh rate in the newer model. At the time, it was much more expensive, and even the 360-Hz option is now down to $600, down from $900.
The monitor offers a gorgeous display, reaching up to 250 nits in SDR but exploding in HDR glory, maxing out at up to 1,000 nits. OLED technology also provides a lightning-fast response time and motion clarity in games that traditional IPS displays can't match. One of the standout features of Samsung's OLED monitors is their sleek design, with a very thin profile and a flat base that doesn't waste space on your desk.
The Odyssey G5 is also on sale, sharing many features with the G6, including OLED technology and the same resolution. However, it has a lower refresh rate of 180 Hz and a different base and stand design. Priced at $334, it's a solid deal, $50 cheaper than the G6.
It's striking how quickly the pricing on OLED monitors has dropped over the past few years. Once a premium technology reserved for buyers willing to spend over $1,000, it's now accessible to mainstream PC gamers. Samsung's refined design also makes it a serious option for content creators or anyone seeking a high-end display for work.
The Samsung Odyssey G75F, a massive 49-inch curved monitor with a 180-Hz refresh rate, is also on sale for $630, its lowest price in at least a few months. Additionally, the company's more affordable Odyssey G30D, a 1080p monitor, is available for under $200. Why this matters: The discounts on Samsung's OLED monitors reflect a broader trend of decreasing prices for high-end display technology.
As OLED becomes more mainstream, it opens up new possibilities for PC gamers and content creators who want high-quality displays without breaking the bank. For developers and businesses, this means that investing in high-end displays for gaming or professional applications is becoming more feasible. However, questions remain about the long-term durability and potential drawbacks of OLED technology, such as burn-in.
