Schlage's UWB smart lock to launch this month
Schlage's Sense Pro deadbolt lock with ultra wideband tech launches June 29th for $399

It's been over a year since Schlage announced its first smart lock to support ultra wideband technology (UWB), but now it's finally almost available to purchase. Starting June 29th, the Schlage Sense Pro deadbolt lock will be available for $399 in the US, allowing customers to unlock their doors by simply approaching them with a supported device, instead of using keys or biometric scans. The Sense Pro was first announced at CES 2025.
It uses Schlage's proprietary Converge technology for UWB, which requires a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch to calculate your speed, trajectory, and motion to unlock the door as you arrive. The Schlage Sense Pro deadbolt lock will offer a convenient and keyless experience for users. With UWB technology, customers won't need to physically interact with the lock or use biometric authentication.
The launch of the Schlage Sense Pro has been anticipated for some time, and its release marks a step forward in the adoption of UWB technology in smart home devices. Why this matters: The introduction of Schlage's UWB-enabled smart lock has significant implications for the smart home industry. As more devices incorporate UWB technology, we can expect to see a shift towards more seamless and secure interactions between devices and users.
For developers, this means an opportunity to integrate UWB into their own products and services, potentially enabling new use cases such as precise location tracking and proximity-based automation. For businesses, the adoption of UWB technology could lead to new revenue streams and opportunities for innovation. For consumers, the Schlage Sense Pro offers a convenient and secure way to interact with their smart home devices.
However, questions remain about the widespread adoption of UWB technology and its potential applications beyond smart home devices.
