ZDNET's recommendations are based on many hours of testing, research, and comparison shopping. We gather data from the best available sources, including vendor and retailer listings as well as other relevant and independent reviews sites. I recently got to go hands-on with the LG C6 OLED TV in the ZDNET testing lab , and it quickly proved itself to be one of the more impressive models on the market. With incredible color accuracy, detailing, and contrast, the C6 OLED is one of the better contenders for the crown for the best new Micro RGB model from Samsung and other brands. And right now at Best Buy, you can save $700 on the 65-inch version, bringing the price down to $2,000.
The LG C6 gives you one of the best pictures on the market, enhanced further with Dolby Vision HDR and a dedicated Filmmaker mode. You'll get bold, bright colors alongside deep, inky blacks for sharp contrast. It also uses an updated processor for better 4K upscaling of older media, creating sharp images even in Hollywood classics and retro shows. The crisp picture is complemented nicely with Dolby Atmos virtual surround sound and clean dialogue, so you never miss a line of your favorite show.
Console gamers can take advantage of the dedicated picture mode with automatic low latency for better response times. It also features Nvidia G-Sync VRR support to prevent annoying screen tearing or stuttering, as well as a dark room mode for a brightness boost. Film buffs get LG's signature Filmmaker mode, which creates a warmer picture that makes the colors look even bolder without tipping into oversaturation.
